How to Use it – The Right Way

How to use our small-batch, mindfully crafted beard oils, beard butters, beard balms, beard wash, and body wash — applied with purpose.

Step 1: Timing Matters

Best time? After a shower.
Your pores are open, your beard is clean, and slightly damp hair absorbs oil better.

Step 2: Amount (Don’t Overdo It)

This isn’t cologne.

  • Short beard: 2–3 drops
  • Medium beard: 4–6 drops
  • Long or dense beard: 6–8 drops

More oil ≠ better beard.
It just means greasy fingers and wasted product.

Step 3: Apply to Skin First

Rub oil between your palms.
Then massage it into the skin under your beard.

That’s the foundation.

Step 4: Pull Through the Beard

Use your hands or a comb to pull the oil through the length of the beard—from root to tip.

This:

  • Distributes evenly
  • Adds softness
  • Helps the beard fall naturally

Step 5: Shape It

Once the beard is nourished, then you style.
Oil makes your beard cooperative.
Tools do the rest.

Step 1: Start Clean

Apply to a clean, dry or slightly damp beard.
After a shower is ideal.

Step 2: Scoop Less Than You Think

  • Short to medium beard: pea-sized amount
  • Longer or denser beard: dime-sized amount

You can always add more. You can’t take it back.

Step 3: Warm It Up

Rub between your palms until fully melted.
If it’s not melted, it won’t distribute evenly.

Step 4: Apply Through the Beard

Work it into the beard from roots to ends.
Make sure you reach the skin underneath—especially in dry areas.

Step 5: Shape and Train

Use your hands or a comb to guide the beard into place.
Butter adds cooperation. Tools do the rest.

When to Use Beard Butter

  • Daily, if your beard is medium to long
  • After beard oil, for added softness and control
  • At night, as an overnight conditioner

It’s flexible. Use it when your beard needs it.

Final Word from Bearded Buddha

Beard butter isn’t about shine or stiffness.
It’s about consistency.

What is beard balmStep 1: Start With Oil

Balm is not a substitute for oil.
Apply beard oil first to nourish the skin and hair.

Step 2: Use a Small Amount

  • Short to medium beard: pea-sized
  • Longer or denser beard: dime-sized

More balm doesn’t mean more control—just more buildup.

Step 3: Warm It Fully

Rub between palms until melted and even.
Cold balm = uneven application.

Step 4: Apply and Shape

Work through the beard from roots to ends.
Use hands or a comb to guide the beard into shape.

Balm sets the direction.
Tools define the finish.

Step 1: Use Less Than You Think

A dime to quarter-sized amount is enough for most beards.

Step 2: Focus on the Skin First

Massage into the beard down to the skin. That’s where buildup and irritation start.

Step 3: Let It Work

Give it 10-20 seconds before rinsing. Gentle cleansers need contact time, not scrubbing.-

Step 4: Rinse Thoroughly

Leftover cleanser causes dryness. Rinse until clean, not squeaky.

Step 5: Follow With Oil

Wash opens the door. Beard oil closes the loop.

Step 1: Use Less Than You Think

A quarter-sized amount is enough for most showers.

Step 2: Hands or Cloth—Your Call

Massage onto wet skin. You don’t need aggressive scrubbing to get clean.

Step 3: Let It Sit Briefly

Give it a few seconds to do its job. Gentle cleansers need contact time, not force.

Step 4: Rinse Thoroughly

Leftover cleanser can cause dryness. Rinse until clean—not tight.

Step 5: Lock It In

Follow with body oil or even use our beard butter while skin is still slightly damp.
